Some take without discrimination, blindly others carefully select, choose, hunt or even breed their “prize”. Each of them does so for a different reason: some want a servant or a lover others wish to turn humans into meals or furniture some are curious and want to experiment others make entire collections out of specific humans… So they just take. The True Fae have an habit – more than a habit, a tradition – to take away people from our world. They live by their own eldritch and weird set of values, morals and virtues – some believe a grain of sand is more valuable than the whole gold of the world while others are only willing to recognize things of a certain color as “real”… Put it bluntly, they are batshit crazy.Ģ- They kidnap people. Their way of thinking is strange and twisted, with a tendency to predatory manipulation, sadistic games and obsessive behavior. They have a hard time understanding anything about humans, and usually they don’t care since they put themselves before anything or anyone else. They do not understand emotions as humans do – if they have emotions at all. By human standards, they are utterly inhuman and completely mad. In modern days, they are known as alien travelling in UFOs, as cryptids and urban legends… There are no two True Fae alike, each one is different in their appearance, behavior and powers, but all share two common traits.ġ- They are mad. In the most ancient times they were worshipped as deities, as dragons, as cosmic forces. The True Fae inspired all the legends about fairies, pixies, monsters, yokai, goblins and more. Another universe of magic, horror and wonders called “ Arcadia” and inhabited by the powerful and inhuman creatures known as the “ True Fae”. In “Changeling: The Lost” this realm does exist. It is the hidden world of trolls and yokai, it is the fairyland of elves and sprites, it is the underworld of spirits and monsters…
Arcadia and the True Fae.Īcross all cultures, there has been this idea that there was another world, an otherworld, filled with magic and wonderful or terrible beings.
